MOVEMENT AND MOBILITY FUNDAMENTALS COURSE
A movement-based approach to rehab
[/vc_column_text][mk_padding_divider][mk_fancy_title font_family=”none”]Optimize Academy is offering a 1 day (7 hour) course open to physical therapists, physical therapy students, trainers, and other health/rehab professionals. The goal of this course is to provide a systematic movement based approach that integrates both mobility and functional movement capacity/motor control. It will combine a global schema for assessing and treating the musculoskeletal system with specific techniques/exercises to help restore it.
The course is practical and hands-on, focusing on functional movement mechanics, mobility techniques, corrective exercises, movement-based rehab and providing a unique approach to musculoskeletal care. We developed this course after identifying a significant void in the quality, effectiveness, and consistency of movement based rehab in our field.
Topics to be covered:
- Mobility and movement screens, assessments, and standards for all populations.
- Restoring mobility. The Big 3: Hips, Ankles and Thoracic Spine.
- How to effectively assess and teach fundamental human movements such as the squat, hinge, lunge etc.
- Assessing core integrity. Effective core stability and strengthening techniques.
- Breathing assessment and improving breathing mechanics.
- Upper and Lower body stability training (hip and shoulder focused).
- Kettlebell and loaded exercises for rehab and training purposes.
- Functional biomechanics of the body and how to restore them (myofascial slings).
- Foot health, strength, and function. Rebuilding the arch.
